Developer Mandel Group Inc. may seek city of Milwaukee financing to build an apartment high-rise overlooking Lake Michigan, setting up a potential standoff over whether the city should subsidize high-end housing.
The developer is investigating financing sources for its Portfolio apartment building planned atop the lake bluff at 1350 N. Prospect Ave. That building could have 20 or more stroeis and 176 apartments if the developer can bridge a gap in its current financing, said Phillip Aiello, Mandel senior vice president of development.
